Student falls out of moving van in Nakhon Si Thammarat

A terrifying moment was caught on camera when a school child fell out of a moving van in the middle of a busy intersection in Nakhon Si Thammarat province.
The shocking incident occurred today, February 25, as the back door of the school van suddenly swung open, sending the boy tumbling onto the road. Miraculously, the car behind managed to brake just in time, narrowly avoiding a tragic accident.
The incident, which has since gone viral on social media, was captured by Facebook user Supachai Sae Tueng. Supachai was driving towards the Benchama Intersection when he witnessed the frightening event. In the video, the school van is seen overtaking another vehicle just as the traffic light turns green.
As it manoeuvred around the car, the back door of the van suddenly burst open, and the child rolled out, landing in the middle of the road.
In a heart-stopping moment, the car directly behind slammed on its brakes, stopping just inches away from the child, who was visibly dazed. Within seconds, a woman rushed to the scene and quickly pulled the boy to safety.
Fortunately, the boy did not appear to suffer any serious injuries but the incident has raised serious questions about school transportation safety.
Sharing the video on his Facebook page, Supachai wrote, “Warning!!! School buses should be driven carefully… The doors should be closed tightly… I don’t know which school. They are taking the child to see a doctor.”
The post quickly gained attention, with concerned parents and social media users expressing outrage over the incident and demanding stricter safety regulations for school vans.
The clip has sparked widespread debate about the safety of school transportation in Thailand, with many calling for tighter inspections and regulations to prevent similar accidents.
The police have been urged to investigate the incident and take action against the van’s driver and school administration for negligence.
Locals voiced their concerns, pointing out that school vans are often overcrowded and poorly maintained, posing serious risks to children’s safety.
The incident has intensified demands for enhanced safety measures, including regular vehicle checks and mandatory seat belts for all passengers, reported KhaoSod.
