SSO approves 900 baht refund for flood-hit Thai provinces
Relief scheme targets financial strain from months of severe weather and rising recovery costs

The Royal Gazette has announced new regulations from the Social Security Office (SSO) regarding a 900 baht refund for those insured in 55 affected provinces.

Those insured under section 33 are not required to register personally, as employers will handle submissions, but businesses must be located within the affected provinces.
The timing of refunds depends on when employers submit requests. Insured people under sections 33 and 39 who overpaid during the specified period will receive up to 900 baht, with actual refunds determined by salary base and excess payments, reported KhaoSod.
The Royal Gazette also published the Social Security Office’s regulations on reclaiming overpaid contributions, signed by Marasri Jairangsi, Secretary-General of the Social Security Office.
Refunds can be made via cash, cheque, money order, or through designated banks. Authorised officials, including the Secretary-General, provincial governors, or other appointed officials, will approve payments to employers or insured persons.
