Foreign transwoman sought over 500,000 baht haul from Thai family
Police in Sing Buri are searching for a foreign transwoman accused of stealing about 500,000 baht worth of assets from a Thai family after they allowed her to stay at their home out of sympathy.
The homeowner, 32 year old Wachiraporn, filed a complaint with Mueang Sing Buri Police Station after discovering that several belongings and valuables had gone missing from her house in Ton Pho district, Sing Buri. She told police she suspected the foreign transwoman, who had left the house and could not be contacted.
Wachiraporn said the transwoman had been working as a housemaid at the home of her friend in the same area. The two later became close, and the transwoman asked to live with Wachiraporn’s family.
She said she felt sorry for the transwoman’s “difficult life” and agreed to let her stay at the accommodation with them.
Wachiraporn later noticed multiple items had disappeared. She said she began monitoring the transwoman and became convinced she was responsible for the thefts.

While Wachiraporn was gathering evidence and preparing to report the matter, she said the transwoman appeared to realise what was happening and slipped out of the house. Wachiraporn reported that the suspect was believed to travel to Mae Sot district, Tak province.
The suspect’s nationality has not been publicly disclosed, but she is believed to be a Myanmar national. Police suspect she may be attempting to cross the border into Myanmar via Tak.
Police have not provided further updates on efforts to locate and arrest the suspect.

In separate recent cases involving transwomen, police arrested four transwomen on February 24 for stealing from and assaulting a German man on Pattaya Beach Road. On February 26, another transwoman in Pattaya was arrested for stealing cash and a mobile phone from a Chinese victim.
In early March, three Thai transwomen were arrested for assaulting a foreign man on Pattaya Walking Street. The man reportedly showed his phone screen to one of the alleged attackers before the assault began. Thai netizens suspected the screen may have displayed insulting or rude words directed at the transwoman.
