Pattaya City honours Queen Sirikit ahead of 92nd birthday

Pattaya City hosted an event to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother in anticipation of her 92nd birthday on August 12, which is Thailand’s Mother’s Day.

The ceremony, held at 10.30am today, August 7, in the Thappraya Room at Pattaya City Hall, reflected the city’s deep respect and gratitude towards the Queen Mother.

Mayor Poramese Ngampichet led the opening ceremony, attended by city executives, council members, heads of government agencies, relevant officials, and members of the Pattaya City Elderly Club. Mayor Poramese began the event by leading participants in offering blessings and best wishes to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother.

“We are here today to honour and celebrate the life and contributions of Her Majesty.”

The ceremony featured the singing of songs dedicated to Her Majesty, followed by praises for the Mother of Thailand. Members of the Pattaya Senior Citizens Club then performed a traditional dance, enriching the event with cultural heritage.

A group photo of Pattaya City executives and Senior Citizens Club members captured the unity and community spirit of the event. Following the photo session, attendees participated in a health training session, rounding off the celebration, reported Pattaya News.

In related news, zoos across Thailand offered free admission for children under 12 years old on June 3 in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Suthida’s birthday. This initiative, announced by the director of the Zoological Park Organisation of Thailand (ZPO), Attapon Srihayrun, included several prominent zoos, such as Khao Kheow Open Zoo in Chon Buri, Chiang Mai Zoo, Songkhla Zoo, Khon Kaen Zoo, Nakhon Ratchasima Zoo, Ubon Ratchathani Zoo, and The Kingdom Project in Surin.

In other news, in a grand tribute to Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua’s birthday, oil giant PTT Pcl, in collaboration with government agencies, the private sector, and the Bang Lamphu and Phra Nakhon district communities, hosted the Lam Nam Nathi Wari Somphot event from July 26 to 28. The king’s birthday was on Sunday, July 28.
