Mysterious spider predicts lottery numbers in Ang Thong
A tarantula has become the latest fortune teller for lottery hopefuls in Thailand. Yesterday, April 28, hundreds of eager participants gathered behind Wat Bot Ratchasattha in Ang Thong province, hoping the eight-legged oracle would grant them the lucky numbers for the upcoming lottery draw.
The event, held in the Bang Rakam subdistrict of Pho Thong, attracted a crowd of superstition-driven people, each bringing offerings of flowers, incense, candles, and slips of paper with numbers written on them. The traditional ceremony was held to ask the tarantula to reveal the magic digits that would lead to fortune.
As the ritual began, the participants lit incense and placed three sets of numbered papers, ranging from 0 to 9, into the tarantula’s burrow, awaiting the creature’s guidance.
Moments later, as the incense smoke rose and the rain began to fall lightly, the tarantula emerged from its hiding place and scuttled towards the papers, pulling out numbers one by one.
The numbers revealed were 0, 8, and 7, which participants quickly wrote down, hoping these figures would bring them luck in the next lottery draw. For many, it was a thrilling moment that added a mystical touch to their lottery rituals, blending ancient beliefs with the hopes of striking it rich, reported KhaoSod.
This quirky practice, which has become increasingly popular across Thailand, stems from local beliefs in animal-related fortune telling.
