A young couple was involved in an unexpected accident after a blanket they were using for warmth became entangled with their motorcycle’s chain, causing it to crash in the middle of the road.

The unfortunate incident, which occurred yesterday, January 12, left the man with a chipped tooth and the woman with a cut lip. Fortunately, a 10-wheel truck following them managed to swerve in time to avoid a collision.

The event was shared on Facebook by Bru Bobo Bae, who posted images of the injured couple and the blanket entangled with the motorcycle chain. The post highlighted the dangers of using a blanket while riding and noted the severity of this winter’s cold.

The Facebook user was later identified as 19 year old Phuwanat Wanudom, an employee at a Bangchak petrol station on the Buriram-Nang Rong road, heading out of the city.

Phuwanat recounted that the day was particularly cold. While at work, he noticed a motorcycle carrying a young man and a woman. Suddenly, the motorcycle toppled in the middle of the road.

A 10-wheel truck following closely behind managed to avoid hitting them, and Phuwanat immediately rushed to assist.

Both teenagers, the male approximately 17 years old and the female around 16, were visibly shaken and remained huddled together on the road as numerous vehicles swerved to avoid them. Phuwanat quickly moved them to the roadside and dragged the motorcycle away from traffic.

The male suffered abrasions on his arms and legs, while the female had a cut lip and a chipped tooth. Emergency services were alerted and transported the injured pair to a hospital, reported KhaoSod.

Upon inspecting the motorcycle, it was discovered that the girl’s blanket had become caught in the chain. It is believed that the incident occurred as the blanket she was using for warmth while riding as a passenger became entangled, leading to the accident.
