Motorcycle accident claims teen student’s life on Sukhumvit Road

A tragic motorcycle accident claimed the life of a teenage vocational student on Sukhumvit Road, near Soi Bang Lamung 16, in the early hours of yesterday, September 11. The incident occurred at approximately 5.16am.

Police Lieutenant Wongthon Makkanan, Deputy Chief of Investigation at Bang Lamung Police Station, responded to the report and coordinated with rescue workers from Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan, Pattaya City. The scene was dark, with motorcycle parts scattered across the road, indicating the severity of the accident.

The victim, identified as 19 year old Thiti Sangwanthong, a vocational student at a university in Chon Buri province, was found lifeless next to a light pole in the median. His grey Honda PCX motorcycle, with the licence plate 4 Kor Tor 290 Chon Buri, had skidded approximately 20 metres, leaving scrape marks on the road. A student uniform was also found nearby, further confirming his identity.

Pol. Lt. Wongthon inspected the scene and recorded images as evidence. However, no witnesses were present at the time, prompting authorities to review CCTV footage to determine the cause of the accident.

Thiti’s body was transported to Bang Lamung Hospital, where it will be held until relatives can arrange for religious ceremonies, reported Pattaya News.

In related news, a young vocational student riding a motorcycle collided with a pickup truck and died at the scene. The accident occurred on an old road in Ratchaburi, with the pickup driver asserting the student had overtaken other vehicles before the crash.

Police officer Thirawat Athornsirirat received a report on Monday, September 9 at 6.45pm of a fatal collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle. The incident took place on Khao Ngu Old Road in Moo 4, Jedee Hak subdistrict, Mueang district, Ratchaburi province.

In other news, a young Thai man lost his life when his motorcycle collided with a water truck and was subsequently run over in Pattaya. The tragic accident unfolded on the evening of August 27 and has left the community in shock.
