Vocational students attack peers over girl, leading to arrests
Nine vocational students attacked two high school students with knives, causing injuries while they were waiting for a bus. Other students screamed and fled in terror. Within an hour, the police had apprehended all involved, citing a dispute over a girl as the reason.
At 7.30pm, yesterday, September 11, officers from Khlong Luang Police Station in Pathum Thani province, including Kiattisak Mitprasat, Chalat Hom-ngern, Siraphop Bualuang, Weera Sukchan, and Pongpanat Rungroj, worked together to arrest nine youths, comprising eight males and one female, aged between 16 and 19 years old.
The arrests took place at a residence in the Phra Pin 7 Village in Khlong Nueng subdistrict, Khlong Luang district. The police also confiscated a cleaver from the scene.
Chalat reported that the police received a notification about students fighting with knives in a village adjacent to a renowned high school in the Khlong Si subdistrict, Khlong Luang district. The incident left two 15 year old high school students injured from knife wounds to the legs, reported KhaoSod.
Emergency responders transported the injured to Bangpakok Rangsit 2 Hospital. The altercation allegedly stemmed from a conflict over a girl.
In related news, a group of teenagers assaulted a young male student at his residence after locking up his girlfriend, accusing him of previously attacking them. The victim, however, denied any knowledge of the incident, fearing retribution from the influential group known as Khummoon.
On August 11, a young male student reported to the media that he was attacked in front of his rented room. Despite filing a police report, the case has seen no progress, and the victim fears further harm due to the attackers’ powerful influence, which deters the police from taking action.
At a rental property in Nikom, Satuek district, Buriram province, Kittipong, a 20 year old student, recounted the events of August 10. Around 7.50pm, while he was in his room with his girlfriend, several motorbikes were parked outside.
