Realising it might be the body of a person reported missing, he alerted the rescue team stationed nearby, fearing the body would drift past the weir. The rescue workers promptly crossed the bridge and jumped into the river to recover the body. They then coordinated with the investigation officer from Mueang Lampang Police Station and a forensic doctor for an autopsy before handing the body over to Ek’s family, reported KhaoSod.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of September 3 when Ek, working as a construction worker, climbed a tree to rest by the Wang River near the governor’s residence and accidentally fell into the river.

Rescue teams from multiple units, including Lampang Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, Sawang Nakhon Lampang Rescue Unit, and Lampang Rescue Association, had been searching for him for a total of 29 hours before his body was found.
