An infant boy was discovered abandoned in a community rubbish bin, rescued by locals who heard his cries. Previously, a deceased infant was found discarded in the same area. Today, Police Lieutenant Colonel Saichon Sawangpop, Deputy Chief of Crime Prevention at the Mueang District Police Station in Nakhon Ratchasima, received a report from a good Samaritan about the abandoned infant behind Nong Pling temple, in Nong Bua Sala district.

The incident took place on the roadside of Nong Pling village. The baby, still alive and breathing was wrapped in a towel and covered with a clear plastic bag, discarded in a community rubbish bin. Emergency services from Sawang Metta Korat Rescue and medical personnel from the local hospital were promptly coordinated to provide initial care.

The boy, covered in fresh blood, was estimated to be about two to three hours old. He was then rushed for a detailed medical examination, reported KhaoSod.

Jumlong Mahingsadej, the village headman of Nong Pling, revealed that a local cyclist passing by the area heard the baby’s cries. They stopped to track the sound, discovering the baby abandoned in the rubbish bin.

Luckily, the trash covering the baby was minimal, allowing his cries to be heard, and he was rescued just in time. Had he been left longer, he could have been covered in insects and more waste.

The community is located in an industrial area, surrounded by worker accommodations. Earlier, a baby was found discarded in a rubbish bin in the same area but had unfortunately died. Community leaders and police are working together to find the person who abandoned the baby and proceed with legal action.
