Government House open this Saturday for National Children’s Day

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will open the Government House on Saturday, January 11, for children and their families in celebration of National Children’s Day.

Government spokesperson Jirayu Houngsub announced that the 38 year old Thai premier will participate in the festivities, which include various activities hosted by the Prime Minister’s Office.

One highlight will allow children to sit in the prime minister’s chair in the Thai Khu Fah Building and practise delivering a broadcast as government spokespersons in both Thai and English.

Additionally, the Thai PM has arranged a video conference with young people from different regions to discuss issues pertinent to their age groups.

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has also planned special activities at four city locations to mark Children’s Day. These include stage performances and entertainment, a gift draw, and complimentary food and snacks at the Thai-Japan Bangkok Youth Centre in Din Daeng district.

Space-themed activities and workshops will be held at the Children’s Discovery Museum in Chatuchak district, nature-themed activities at the Children’s Discovery Museum II in Thung Khru district, and science-themed learning exercises at Bangkok City Library in Phra Nakhon district, reported Bangkok Post.

Additionally, the BMA will provide opportunities for young visitors to experience sitting in the Bangkok governor’s chair at City Hall 2.

In related news, a recent poll conducted by the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) indicates that a majority of Thais foresee Paetongtarn Shinawatra holding the position of prime minister throughout the year.

The survey, carried out over three days, involved 1,310 participants, offering insights into public opinion on the current political landscape.

In other news, the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has disclosed a detailed account of Paetongtarn’s assets and liabilities, marking her ascension into office. The report reveals that the Thai PM holds assets worth over 13 billion baht, alongside liabilities amounting to more than 4 billion baht.
