Family demands answers after Rama II concrete block tragedy
Thai hospital questioned over wrong blood transfusion for Rama II victim

The family of a 46 year old man who died after a concrete block fell on his vehicle on Rama II Road is seeking answers about his death.
The incident, which resulted in Amnat’s passing at the hospital, left the family questioning whether a blood transfusion error contributed to his low blood pressure and subsequent death.
On Tuesday, April 29, Amnat was driving his pickup truck along Rama II Road when a large concrete block fell onto the vehicle, causing severe injuries. He was taken to the hospital, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. The incident has deeply affected his family, who are now seeking clarity over conflicting blood group reports from two hospitals.
Yesterday, May 1, at Wat Yang Tan in Krok Phra district, Nakhon Sawan province, where Amnat’s funeral rites were held, his family expressed their concerns. His brother, Kanyarak Thongkham, voiced suspicions regarding the medical treatment at the two hospitals. He explained that the first hospital reportedly gave Amnat blood type A, but upon transferring to the second hospital, it was discovered that Amnat’s blood type was B. This discrepancy has left the family anxious for an official explanation.

Kanyarak shared his experience, stating that after learning of his brother’s accident, he hurried to the hospital. Upon arrival, he observed that Amnat, although injured, was communicative but complained of severe abdominal pain and chest tightness.
Unfortunately, after surgery, Amnat was declared dead due to a ruptured liver, causing significant blood loss. This revelation led the family to question whether the blood transfusion error played a role in Amnat’s deteriorating condition and eventual death. They are awaiting a thorough investigation and clarification from the involved hospitals, reported KhaoSod.
The family remains hopeful for clear answers, emphasising that the situation is significant and requires immediate attention.
