Car repair shop fire in Bangkok destroys cars and kills two dogs

A devastating fire tore through a car repair shop in Bang Bon district in Bangkok, leaving behind a trail of destruction, including the loss of two beloved dogs. Firefighters acted swiftly to contain the flames, but the damage was extensive.

The fire broke out around 10pm, yesterday, March 20, at a car repair shop located on Soi Bang Bon 4, Soi 6, Bang Bon Road.

Police Lieutenant Chavapon Klongyut of Bang Bon Police Station quickly responded to the emergency call and was joined by Bang Bon Fire and Rescue Services at the scene.

By the time they arrived, the 140-square-metre repair shop was already engulfed in flames and thick smoke. Firefighters deployed three hoses to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading.

Despite their efforts, the fire continued to wreak havoc. Fortunately, they managed to bring it under control in just 15 minutes.

Polkrit, the 42 year old owner of the shop, explained that employees usually stay overnight at the facility, but on this occasion, they had left for the night.

Tragically, the shop’s two dogs, a male pit bull named Sua and a Thai breed named Kuay, were left behind and perished in the fire.

While no human casualties were reported, the blaze destroyed four vehicles awaiting repairs. A white sedan parked nearby also suffered minor damage on its left side.

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire, with officials working to determine whether it was accidental or caused by another factor.

The incident has drawn widespread sympathy, particularly for the loss of the two dogs, which had become an important part of the repair shop’s daily operations, reported KhaoSod.

As the investigation continues, residents have expressed concern over fire safety in the area, especially in businesses that operate late at night. The tragic loss of the dogs and the vehicles has left a deep mark on the tight-knit community.
