Truck’s mishap sends shockwaves at Phaya Thai intersection
A high-impact collision occurred at Phaya Thai intersection, sending shockwaves through the area as a truck crashed into a height restriction barrier on Sri Ayutthaya Road inbound from the Mor Leng intersection to the Sri Ayutthaya intersection, around the ramp to the overpass at Phaya Thai intersection.
The incident, which took place at 7.18am today, May 9, caused severe damage and led to significant traffic congestion, extending to the Ramkhamhaeng intersection.
Following the crash, police were swift to respond, closing two traffic lanes to facilitate the removal of the wreckage. This action inevitably led to a buildup of vehicles, as drivers faced delays while the clean-up operation was underway, reported KhaoSod.
The swift response from the officials helped mitigate the situation, and by 7.29am, they had managed to clear the truck and the collapsed roof structure. The efforts continued as the team cleared the debris and cleaned the road to restore normal traffic flow.
In related news, a collision between a pickup truck and a semi-trailer truck on April 7 led to a fiery blaze that completely destroyed the pickup, while the truck driver and a 10 year old boy survived the incident in Chon Buri, Thailand.
In the early hours of the morning, a violent crash occurred on highway 331 in the Na Wang Hin district of Chon Buri province. A semi-trailer truck, bearing the registration 63-3022 Bangkok, collided with a pickup truck, engulfing the latter in flames.
Emergency services, including the Swasang Het Ban Thung Hieng rescue unit and the Na Wang Hin local fire brigade, rapidly responded to the scene.
Upon arrival, the first responders found the pickup truck ablaze and quickly set to work extinguishing the fire, preventing it from spreading to the overturned semi-trailer nearby.
The 50 year old driver of the truck, Jinda Somsorn, recounted that he was en route to deliver goods to Buriram province from the Sahapat Group when the pickup truck abruptly pulled out from a side street, causing the collision.
