Motorcyclist dies in high-speed crash at Pathum Thani intersection
A collision occurred when a motorcyclist crashed into an overpass at a red light intersection in Pathum Thani, resulting in the rider’s death. The incident, which locals suspect involved high speed and no braking, prompted a police investigation.
At approximately 1.30am today, January 20, Police Lieutenant Colonel Weerawat Niyomsub, an investigator from Khlong Luang Police Station, responded to a report of a motorcycle accident at the Homeplace red light intersection on Bangkhan-Nong Suea Road, Khlong Nueng subdistrict, Khlong Luang district.
He was accompanied by traffic police, forensic medical staff from Thammasat University Hospital, the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, and volunteer officers from Hongsakul.
The deceased, identified as 43 year old Den (surname withheld), was found at the scene astride his Honda motorcycle, registered in Bangkok. The front of the vehicle was severely damaged, and Den’s helmet was shattered by the impact.
Locals indicated that the motorcyclist likely emerged from Leab Khlong L 1-2 Road at high speed without braking, resulting in the fatal collision with the Homeplace overpass, reported KhaoSod.
Pol. Lt. Col. Weerawat documented the scene for evidence purposes. He instructed the Ruamkatanyu Foundation to transport the body to the forensic unit at Thammasat University Hospital for further examination. Arrangements will be made for the family to collect the body for funeral rites.
In related news, a tragic accident occurred on January 14 when a 47 year old man died after his motorcycle collided with the rear of a pig transport truck on Hua Sai Road, Bang Khla district, Chachoengsao province. The incident took place at 6.30pm on January 14 and was reported to Police Lieutenant Alongkorn Phapha at the Bang Khla Police Station.
Upon receiving the report, emergency services in Chachoengsao were dispatched to the location. They found a yellow Isuzu truck, license plate 71-2899 Chachoengsao, fully loaded with pigs. The truck was driven by 57 year old Somchit.
