Mother and son killed in Loei truck collision

A tragic collision between an 18-wheeler truck and a pickup truck resulted in the deaths of a mother and her son. The accident occurred yesterday, September 18, at 5.30pm on a two-lane highway in Non Pa Sang, Phakhao district, Loei province. The incident was reported by the Ruam Jai Rescue Association via their Facebook page.

At the scene, rescue workers found a severely damaged Nissan pickup truck with the registration number 6866 Loei. The driver, a woman, was found dead at the scene.

A young boy, who was in the front passenger seat, was critically injured and had to be extricated from the wreckage using hydraulic cutters. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival, reported KhaoSod.

The 18-wheeler truck involved in the collision had significant damage to its front right side. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation by the local police.

In related news, a truck carrying Burmese workers tried to overtake another vehicle but collided with a six-wheeler, causing it to flip over and land upside down. The driver died at the scene, while four workers in the back narrowly escaped death.

At approximately 6.30pm on September 7, police officers from the Mueang Chon Buri Police Station received a report of a pickup truck overturning, with multiple injuries and one fatality at the scene.

The incident occurred on Sukhumvit Road near the weigh station, heading towards Bangkok, in Khlong Tamru subdistrict, Mueang district, Chon Buri Province. Police and rescue teams from the Thammaratsamimanirat Foundation quickly arrived at the scene.

Upon arrival, police discovered a grey Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck, license plate number บธ 702 Prachuap Khiri Khan, overturned with its wheels facing the sky. Four Burmese workers who were passengers in the truck were injured.

Rescue workers provided first aid before transferring them to Chon Buri Hospital.
