In a brutal act of jealousy, a husband and wife’s heated argument in a rented room ended in a brutal assault. The husband attacked his wife with scissors before fleeing the scene. When discovered later, he was found lifeless on a stairwell. The couple’s relatives revealed the cause and recounted the moments when they tried to intervene.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Phonchai Kurajinda, an investigator at Samrong Nuea Police Station, today revealed that at 8pm yesterday, he received a report of a quarrel in an apartment complex in Samrong Nuea, Samut Prakan province. The investigation team and the foundation’s staff were immediately dispatched to inspect the site.

Upon arriving at the scene near the stairwell on the second floor, they found the injured man named Pee, a 28 year old Myanmar national. He had been stabbed in the chest and was lying unconscious. Despite more than 30 minutes of resuscitation attempts, the man succumbed to his injuries.

Another injured individual was found, a woman named Kam Ing, a 27 year old Myanmar national and the deceased’s wife. She had been stabbed in the left arm and had a head injury. Relatives had already taken her to Samut Prakan Hospital before the authorities arrived.

Upon inspecting room number 214, the authorities found blood scattered all over the room, signs of a struggle, and a pair of broken 15-centimetre-long scissors. They were collected as evidence.

A resident of the apartment, Namwan, said that she heard a woman’s cries for help while she was walking to her room.

The injured individuals’ relatives, who lived in a nearby room, rushed to open the door but found it locked. They saw the woman bleeding profusely through the iron door and desperately tried to get the man to stop his brutal assault and open the door.

Eventually, the man unlocked the door, and the witnesses and relatives rushed to get the injured woman out of the room and took her to Samut Prakan Hospital.

A 36 year old woman, a relative of the injured woman, said she heard Kam Ing’s cries for help while she was in her room. She and her boyfriend rushed to open the door but it was locked by Kam Ing’s husband. Despite seeing Kam Ing bleeding heavily, the man did not listen to their pleas and continued to assault her.

Unexpectedly, the man attempted to stab himself in the chest with the scissors several times but failed. He then positioned the scissors on his chest and ran into the wall, causing the scissors to penetrate his chest. The man was still conscious and managed to unlock the door before collapsing.

The woman said she learned later that the man had died. The cause is suspected to be jealousy. However, once Kam Ing recovers, investigators will interview her to ascertain the true cause of the brutal assault, reported KhaoSod.
