What makes a great cannabis dispensary? An insider look at WeedeN

The streets of Thailand tell a story, and lately, that story smells like weed. Not the furtive kind passed around on humid hostel balconies or behind closed doors of expat lounges, but something more deliberate and polished. It lingers outside neon-lit dispensaries with names that signal a new kind of luxury: high-end, legal, very much above-board, and, dare we say, fun.
WeedeN is one of those names. More than that, it is the name. It’s the largest chain of weed shops in southern Thailand, going from zero to twenty-two stores in just two years. In a market that’s still figuring itself out, that kind of expansion means they must be doing something right. So we asked them, what does it take to build a great cannabis dispensary in Thailand?
The mission to make cannabis accessible
What’s the story behind WeedeN? Why here, why now? The answer is simple: it’s time.
“The growing global acceptance of cannabis and its potential benefits for responsible consumers inspired us to establish WeedeN,” the team told The Thaiger. “Our mission is to make these benefits accessible to a wider audience, breaking down barriers and dispelling misconceptions.”
Accessible. It’s a word they return to often. In a sense, the whole operation hinges on it, and it is what sets them apart. Not just the physical access of 22 dispensaries in Koh Samui and Phuket, but the philosophical access of making cannabis something understood rather than feared.
The WeedeN experience

“We continuously strive to enhance the customer experience, focusing on user experience, service, and overall satisfaction,” the team at WeedeN says when we ask what makes them different. And they mean it.
The first time you walk into a WeedeN dispensary, it’s almost startling. It’s clean, chic, and as carefully designed as a boutique. Jars of flowers are neatly displayed on the counter, and behind it, the staff is friendly, smiling, and ready to help. They don’t rush you, don’t size you up, don’t make you feel like you should already know what you’re doing.
Almost all of their dispensaries also have a lounge, which leans closer to an Amsterdam coffeeshop than a sterile retail space. You can relax, you can play games (yes, some of the shops have PlayStation 5), you can sit back with friends and let the world slow down a little.
What’s on the menu?

WeedeN doesn’t mess around when it comes to variety. From flowers to edibles, they have everything you could ever want and more. They’re also constantly exploring new options and expanding their offering to meet the latest trends and customer preferences.
Some strains have quickly become bestsellers, flying off the shelves thanks to their unique flavours and effects. Right now, Tropicana Cherry, Lychee, Better Than Sex, and Sugar Cane are customer favourites.
If it’s your first time, the choice can feel like too much, but that’s the point. Ask. The friendly staff know their way around every product, every effect and they’ll steer you right.
“For first-time users, we recommend starting with CBD products, such as gummies or oils, due to their gentle effects,” WeedeN says. “Alternatively, they can try strains with low THC and high CBD content, such as CBD Suver Haze, for a mild and manageable experience.”
But what about the regulars? They want ease, something that fits into their life without a second thought.
“We’ve noticed a growing trend towards pre-rolls,” the team explains. “Customers increasingly prefer convenient, ready-to-use options.”
CBD products have also found a quiet, loyal following. “With the rising popularity of cannabis, many individuals are discovering its benefits for the first time. A significant number of customers are exploring CBD for relaxation and improved sleep, and after experiencing its positive effects, they often venture into other THC-containing products,” they share.

Quality over everything
Yes, WeedeN boasts a huge selection, but they don’t just stock anything. To become one of the best cannabis dispensaries in Phuket and Koh Samui, they only work with reputable and established producers to guarantee the highest quality products. In addition, each product goes through a rigorous testing process, so nothing makes it to the shelves by accident.
“Before any product reaches our shelves, it undergoes a rigorous evaluation process. We conduct in-house assessments and gather feedback from a select group of consumers. Only products that receive consistently high ratings make it to our stores, ensuring that our customers have access to the finest quality cannabis,” they explain.
Rules are rules

Legality, of course, is both the foundation and the constraint. It is what makes WeedeN possible, but it is also what makes WeedeN careful. And being the biggest cannabis retailer in Thailand means playing by the book.
“We strictly adhere to regulations, including preventing sales to minors and pregnant women. We provide responsible dosage recommendations based on our experience, prioritising the well-being of our customers,” they say.
These are the rules to cannabis in Thailand: No sales to anyone under 20. No sales to pregnant or breastfeeding women. No smoking in public places. No driving under the influence.
The rules do not feel oppressive so much as inevitable. The team at WeedeN talks about them in the same way they talk about quality control, as part of the process, not a restriction but a standard.
And above all, safety comes first. They prioritise educating their customers on this, “Should any individual experience adverse health effects following cannabis use, immediate consultation with a medical professional is strongly recommended,”
Thinking big for the future

With such rapid success, it’s no surprise that WeedeN is thinking big. The future for them is expansion, innovation, and more locations across Thailand.
“Our vision is to educate and introduce more people to the potential benefits of responsible cannabis consumption while making high-quality products more accessible. As the cannabis market continues to evolve globally, we aspire to be at the forefront, providing exceptional customer experiences,” they told us.
And the next step? Bringing WeedeN to new destinations.
They add, “We plan to expand our presence by opening new stores in key regions such as Pattaya, Bangkok and Chiang Mai, building upon our already strong presence in Samui and Phuket.”
This means more stores, more access, and more opportunities for people to discover high-quality cannabis in a professional and welcoming but playful setting.

The thing about a dispensary, about a good dispensary, is that it has to be many things at once. It must be professional but relaxed, clinical but not cold. It needs to make first-time buyers feel comfortable but still maintain a sense of exclusivity for those who have been buying long before legality made it easy. It has to follow the rules without feeling rigid and be responsible without being dull. WeedeN gets this exactly right. And that’s why people keep coming back.
If you find yourself in Phuket or Koh Samui, see it for yourself. Walk in, take a look, ask a question, maybe even stay a while. For more, visit weeden.club or find their locations here.
