Simone Biles Leads Team USA to Gymnastics Gold: Where to Watch Her Next Events

Simone Biles made history again at the 2024 Paris Olympics by leading Team USA to gold in the women’s team all-around gymnastics competition. She became the most decorated American gymnast of all time.

Biles made a triumphant return after withdrawing from several events at the Tokyo Olympics due to experiencing the “twisties.”

This year, Biles competed in all four events, earning the highest scores and securing her fifth Olympic gold medal. This brings her total Olympic medal count to eight, surpassing Shannon Miller’s record for the most Olympic medals won by an American gymnast.

Biles and her teammates, Jade Carey, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, and newcomer Hezly Rivera, reclaimed their position at the top of the podium. The team’s combined score of 171.296 secured a comfortable victory over silver medalist Italy and bronze medalist Brazil.

Biles she says her second Olympic team gold medal feels totally different than the first “I think in 2016, we were destined to win gold, everybody kind of already said we were going to win gold. Now that I’m much older and we have so much more experience, we’re out here really having fun and enjoying what we’re doing.

“It just felt a little bit different It was super exciting, we had fun, we enjoyed each other’s time out there, and we just did our gymnastics.”

Biles also created a mesmerizing fashion moment at the Olympics with her team’s grey leotards. Designed by GK Elite. The Star Spangled Shine Leotard featured a sheer mesh fabric with velvet accents and was adorned with 6,359 Swarovski crystals in shades of Brilliance, Periwinkle, Turquoise Shimmer, and Metallic Gold.

In the finals, the US women’s gymnastics team continued to make a fashion statement, wearing leotards with an American flag motif adorned with 9,929 Brilliance and Ruby Crystals. Designed by GK Elite, the leotards were inspired by the Magnificent Seven Team, the legendary US women’s gymnastics team that won gold at the 1996 Olympics.

When does Simone Biles compete next at the Olympics?

After winning gold in the team event, Biles will continue to compete in four individual events:

  • Thursday, August 1st: Women’s All-Around final at 6:15 PM Thailand time, broadcast live on NBC, Peacock, and nbcolympics.com.
  • Saturday, August 3rd: Women’s Vault final at 10:20 PM Thailand time, broadcast live on NBC and Peacock.
  • Monday, August 5th: Women’s Balance Beam final at 6:36 PM Thailand time, broadcast live on E! and Peacock.
  • Monday, August 5th: Women’s Floor Exercise final at 8:20 PM Thailand time, broadcast live on NBC and Peacock.

How Simone Biles become a queen of gymnast?

Simone Arianne Biles, born on March 14, 1997, in Columbus, Ohio, is widely regarded as one of the greatest gymnasts of all time. She has a record-breaking career, characterized by her unparalleled achievements and significant contributions to the sport of gymnastics.

Biles’ journey in gymnastics began at the age of six during a daycare field trip to Bannon’s Gymnastix in Houston, Texas. Recognizing her natural talent, she was encouraged to take up the sport, leading her to train and compete at elite levels. She quickly rose through the ranks, joining the U.S. national team in 2012​

Biles’ first major international success came at the 2013 World Championships in Antwerp, where she won gold medals in the all-around and floor exercise, silver on vault, and bronze on the balance beam. This marked the beginning of a highly decorated career. She continued to dominate the sport, securing numerous titles and setting records. She has won a total of 30 World Championship medals, including 23 golds, making her the most decorated gymnast in World Championships history​.

At the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, Biles made history by winning four gold medals (team, all-around, vault, and floor exercise) and a bronze on the balance beam. After facing challenges, mental health struggles at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. she still managed to add a silver medal in the team event and a bronze on the balance beam at Paris 2024 Olympics.

She has been a vocal advocate for mental health, bringing attention to the pressures faced by elite athletes. In 2022, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Joe Biden
