2 Thai transwomen arrested over high heel attack in Hong Kong
Hong Kong police arrested two Thai transwomen after they attacked a Chinese man with high heels, allegedly due to a financial dispute, on Saturday, March 14.
Local news agency, HK01, reported the incident happened at about 8pm at Kin Hing Building on Argyle Street in Mong Kok, Hong Kong. The case involved two Thai transwomen, aged 29 and 30, and a 55 year old Chinese man.
Police were called to the scene and arrested those involved. HK01 reported the dispute was over money, which was suspected to be payment for sexual services.
The Chinese man reportedly refused to pay the 29 year old Thai transwoman and attempted to leave, prompting her to call her 30 year old Thai transgender friend to the scene.

The media reported that the two Thai nationals then attacked the Chinese man with their high heels. The Chinese man reportedly suffered head wounds, a bleeding nose and dizziness, while the Thai transwomen were reported to have injuries to their hands and feet.
All three were taken to Kwong Wah Hospital for treatment before legal proceedings. Police seized the high heels as evidence and charged the two Thai transwomen with physical assault. The report did not clarify what penalties they could face.

Thai nationals were previously involved in criminal cases in Hong Kong. In 2024, a Thai transwoman was arrested after a male friend allegedly tricked her into smuggling cannabis by asking her to carry his luggage, claiming it was overweight, before the bag was found to contain two kilogrammes of cannabis.
In a separate airport case, a passenger arriving from Bangkok, whose nationality was not confirmed in the report, was arrested with six kilogrammes of cannabis.
In 2022, a Thai transwoman was seen fleeing police by climbing down a building to a busy road in Tsim Sha Tsui. She was suspected of illegally offering sex services in the building.
