A Chinese woman shared her mortifying experience during an online job interview. While she was dressed appropriately from the waist up, her lower half was not. She was left feeling extremely embarrassed when she forgot herself and stood up to turn on a light, letting her interviewers see her state of undress.

The woman shared her story on the Xiaohongshu platform, where she explained that she had been interviewing for a position at a bank branch. For the online interview, she wore a formal women’s suit on her upper body.

“I thought they wouldn’t see the lower half of my body during the online interview, so I didn’t bother to dress it.”

However, during the interview, she forgot herself and stood up to turn on a light. When she returned to her seat, she noticed a variety of reactions from the multiple interviewers. She then realised that they had seen her bare lower body.

“For a moment, I wanted to explode on the spot.”

Although she tried hard to reassure herself, she felt all her interview preparations had been in vain. She was unable to recover her mood after the interview ended 20 minutes later, and she fell into despondency and lamented that the interview was a lesson of blood and tears, reported HK01.

After her post was published, several netizens repeatedly asked the poster whether she had been completely naked on the lower half or at least wearing underwear.

Some netizens advised that if she were hired, she should wear flesh-coloured trousers on her first day at work so that the interviewers might doubt their memory.

Meanwhile, other netizens shared similar experiences of their own.

“After the interview, the Human Resources employee asked everyone to stand up one by one and show their entire body, and I was in tears.”
