The Vivo X300 Ultra is built to beat Samsung and here’s how
Vivo has officially launched the X300 Ultra in China, and for the first time in the brand’s history, an Ultra-series device is confirmed for international markets. That’s a big deal. Previous Ultra models never left China, so this marks a genuine shift in vivo’s global ambitions.
The X300 Ultra is positioned squarely against the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and vivo’s chosen battleground is camera performance, specifically video. The phone is built around professional-grade photo and video capability, and the specs back that up.
That also reflects a broader shift in the smartphone market, where not everyone is chasing maximum specs and some buyers are paying more attention to budget phones that are thin and light.
Camera system: two 200MP sensors and ZEISS glass
The headline feature is a dual 200MP camera setup, something you won’t find on most flagships. The main shooter uses a Sony Lytia 901 sensor at 1/1.12 inches, while a second 200MP telephoto lens covers an 85mm equivalent focal length with 3.7x optical zoom. Rounding out the rear system is a 50MP ultrawide with a 1/1.28-inch sensor.

For anyone who wants to push things further, vivo has partnered with ZEISS on two external clip-on lenses, a 200mm option (8.7x optical zoom) and a 400mm option that reaches 17.4x optical zoom. Both include gimbal stabilisation and autofocus, which is a serious addition for content creators or anyone who regularly shoots at a distance.
Specs: Snapdragon 8 Elite, 6,600mAh, Android 16
Under the hood, the X300 Ultra runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The display is a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED panel at 1440 x 3168 resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate, sharp and smooth.
Battery is 6,600mAh with 100W wired charging and 40W wireless. The phone ships with Android 16 under vivo’s OriginOS 6 skin.
What about the rest of the X300 series?
Vivo also launched the X300s alongside the Ultra, a mid-point between the standard X300 and the X300 Pro. It’s a strong phone in its own right, with a 200MP main camera (Samsung HPBr sensor), a 7,100mAh battery, MediaTek Dimensity 9500, and a 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED display. Prices in China start at around 4,999 yuan (roughly 23,800 baht).

The catch is that the X300s is China-only for now, with no signs of a global release. If you’re in Thailand and interested in the X300 series, the Ultra is currently the only model confirmed for international sale, though no specific release date outside China has been announced yet.
Worth watching
The vivo X300 Ultra is the one to keep an eye on. It’s the first time vivo has brought its top-tier Ultra line to the global stage, and the camera credentials are genuinely impressive. Competition from Samsung and even stablemate OPPO’s X9 Ultra (expected in the first half of 2026) will be fierce, but vivo is clearly playing to win this time around.
Thailand’s pricing or release date has not been confirmed yet, but given the global launch intent, it’s likely a matter of when, not if.
