Wichit, Phuket set to face water supply outages
A significant water supply outage is set to impact a large area of Phuket on Thursday, November 28. The outage, scheduled from 9am to 11.30pm, is necessary to facilitate essential repairs to a 400mm HDPE water supply main in key areas.
The Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) Phuket urges residents and businesses in the affected areas to take the following precautions. Most importantly, residents are urged to stock up on water before the outage to minimise any inconveniences.
After the water supply had been restored the PWA reported that there may be a temporary discolouration or sediment in the water, residents are urged to be mindful. For any inquiries or updates, the PWA can be reached through their call centre at 1662.
The repairs are set to affect a large portion of Wichit, causing water supply interruptions or low water pressure. Some of the affected areas include:

The major water outage highlights the ongoing water supply challenges faced by Phuket. Deputy Minister of Interior Sabida Thaiseth recently visited the island to discuss long-term solutions with local officials and agencies, including the PWA Phuket.
The meeting aimed to address the recurring water supply issues and develop strategies to improve the island’s water infrastructure, reported The Phuket News.
