Phuket police are actively searching for a 63 year old gunman, for his involvement in a shooting of a teenager in Srisoonthron, Phuket after a prolonged dispute between the two, who share over a 40 year age gap.
Thalang Police Station officers received reports of the shooting at 6.39pm yesterday, July 4. Officers and rescue workers from Srisoonthorn Municipality arrived at the scene, a rental house in Moo 5, Srisoonthorn, located behind Wat Srisoonthorn School. Evidence at the scene included seven bullet casings scattered on the ground.
The victim, 19 year old Padungdach Nooju, originally from Nakhon Sri Thammarat, sustained minor injuries to his head and waist. According to police, the shots were fired from a distance, resulting in injuries. Rescue units transported Padungdach to Thalang Hospital for further medical treatment.
The investigation identified the gunman as 63 year old Somrak Sukonthamat, registered as a resident of Phuket Town but was staying in a rental unit opposite Padungdach.
Somrak and Padungdach had once been friendly neighbours, often seen drinking together outside their rooms. However, their relationship deteriorated over time, leading to frequent arguments and a growing sense of disdain between them.

Following the incident, Somrak fled the scene on a red-black Honda motorcycle. Police are now actively pursuing Somrak to press charges for the Phuket shooting incident, reported Phuket News.
