Teen loses finger in Pattaya crash with foreign biker

A late-night joyride turned into a nightmare when a foreign biker allegedly cut off a teenager’s scooter, resulting in a violent crash in East Pattaya that left both riders seriously injured, and one boy missing a finger.

The accident unfolded on Sunday, March 30 in Soi Khao Noi (Boon Samphan), just outside Chokchai Village 7. Emergency responders arrived to find two motorcycles wrecked in the road, a black Chopper-style motorbike and a pink Honda Scoopy-i, both toppled over and mangled from the impact.

The Chopper was ridden by a foreign man believed to be an Indian national, aged between 50 and 60 years old. He was found in a dazed state with severe head injuries.

Not far from him, the 14 year old Thai boy who had been riding the Scoopy-i lay seriously injured, bleeding from the head and missing his right ring finger.

Medics scrambled to stabilise the teenager, placing his severed finger on ice in a desperate attempt to preserve it. Both victims were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

A friend of the injured boy, who witnessed the crash, told police they had just exited Soi Khao Noi when the foreign rider suddenly swerved into their path, giving them no time to react.

Another witness, 33 year old Wilawan, who had been selling goods nearby, backed up the teen’s account.

“The foreign man made a sudden turn into the village. That’s when the crash happened.”

Police arrived swiftly at the scene to assess the wreckage and take statements. Investigators are now reviewing CCTV footage in the area to determine the exact cause of the collision and whether charges will be filed, reported Pattaya Mail.

The incident has sparked safety concerns among residents in the area, particularly with the rise in reckless riding on Pattaya’s busy roads.

In similar news, a tragic crash on Highway 331 in Chachoengsao claimed the lives of a married couple after their motorcycle, carrying three people, collided with a Toyota Fortuner.

The third passenger was seriously injured. Emergency services found all three victims lying on the central reservation in Nong Nae subdistrict.
