Indian national found dead in Bangkok townhouse

A housekeeper discovered the unusual death of a 38 year old Indian national, who had rented a townhouse in Thon Buri district, Bangkok, for about two months.
His relatives lost contact with him, prompting the house owner to request an inspection. At 2pm yesterday, March 19, Police Lieutenant Satha Duang-Iad, Deputy Inspector at Samre Police Station, responded to a report of a death at a residence near Wat Santithanmaram.
Officials from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, an on-duty doctor, and forensic officers joined the investigation.
The townhouse where the incident occurred is two storeys high. Inside, Taran was found dead, lying on his back on a bed, turned slightly to the right, shirtless, and wearing black shorts.
A plastic bag covered his head, connected to a helium tank beside him. Police documented the scene for evidence.
The housekeeper, who has worked there for two years, revealed she was contacted by the property owner to check on the tenant after relatives were unable to reach him. Upon arrival, she rang the doorbell multiple times without a response.
Observing that the air conditioning was off and no shoes were placed outside, she assumed no one was home. Using a spare key, she entered the house and proceeded to the second floor but did not have a key to the bedroom. Peering inside, she discovered the tenant had passed away and promptly informed the police.
The police have yet to determine the exact cause of death and have sent the body for an autopsy. They are in the process of contacting the deceased’s relatives for the retrieval of the body to conduct religious rites, reported KhaoSod.
