Tragic road trip takes toll: Family of three’s fate takes a dark turn in Chon Buri

A tragic car accident in Chon Buri province yesterday evening resulted in the unfortunate demise of a family of three, including a five year old girl. The fatal incident took place on the Bo Thong – Khlong Ta Phet Road, located within the Bo Thong subdistrict.

In response to the tragedy, emergency services and the Chon Buri police hurried to the car accident site, where they discovered a pickup truck, registered in Samut Prakan province, had collided with a Honda Wave 125 motorbike carrying three passengers.

The three victims, 35 year old Morn, 33 year old Chauwen, and a five year old girl, were discovered strewn across the tarmac. Morn had tragically succumbed to severe injuries to his head and arm. Chauwen and the young girl, whose identity has been withheld due to her tender age, were also pronounced dead during their journey to Bo Thong Hospital. According to the police, all three victims hailed from a neighbouring country and were related.

Eak, a 30 year old relative of the victims, informed the police that the family were on their way to a buffalo festival on their motorbike when the deadly incident occurred. They were almost at the event’s location when they were involved in the tragic accident, reported Pattaya News.

The pickup truck’s driver, 73 year old Somlak Wattanasombat stated that the victims appeared to swerve to avoid another vehicle, leading them to lose control and collide with his truck. To verify his account, Chon Buri police are currently examining CCTV footage.

The bodies of the victims are currently being held at the hospital, where they await the arrival of their family members for the commencement of funeral rites.

In related news, a severe car accident in Phuket’s Talat Nuea district left one person dead and eight others injured. The incident involved a Mercedes Benz, driven by the wife of a retired senior police officer, who claimed she experienced dizziness and a blackout and mistook the accelerator for the brake, leading to the fatal crash.
