Thai man stabbed as domestic dispute turns violent in Pattaya
The calm of Pattaya was shattered yesterday when a domestic altercation took an ugly turn and saw a Thai man stabbed in the back. The incident, which occurred at a rental residence near the entrance of Soi Khao Makok in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chon Buri province, was reported to the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Unit at 9.16pm.
The victim, identified as 32 year old Damrong Dokpikul, was discovered by the rescue team with a deep, life-threatening wound to his back. The team swiftly provided him with preliminary medical assistance before rushing him to a nearby hospital to receive further treatment.
The account of the incident comes from Damrong’s unnamed mother. On the fateful night, her son turned up at the house, bloodied and shaken, seeking help. He confided to his mother that the person behind his injury was none other than his girlfriend.
Damrong shared that both he and his girlfriend had been drinking alcohol when a heated argument flared up between them. Things soon spiralled out of control when the verbal squabble escalated into physical violence. In a fit of rage, his girlfriend allegedly grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the back.
As of the latest update, Pattaya police are actively pursuing the girlfriend, whose identity has not been disclosed to the media. A police hunt is underway, and law enforcement officials remain committed to ensuring justice is served.
Damrong’s mother revealed her son arrived at the house seeking help.
“He claimed he had been stabbed by his girlfriend. He told me that an argument broke out with his drunk girlfriend after they both consumed alcohol, and things turned physical. She used a knife to stab him in the back.”
This incident is a grim reminder of the dangers of domestic violence and the potentially catastrophic consequences of a moment’s blind rage.
