A woman found the lifeless body of a missing worker, who had been electrocuted and was holding a pair of scissors tightly, in his room. Police are investigating the incident that took place last night.

Police Lieutenant Pacharak Suriya from Huai Yai Police Station reported receiving a distress call at 7pm yesterday, July 30, about a death at an unnumbered worker camp near the Ban Phu Thai cassava field, Village No. 5, Khao Mai Kaew Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri Province.

The scene was a zinc-roofed room where the body of Pongsakorn, a 23 year old shuttle driver, was found. He had suffered severe burns on his chest from electrocution, clutching a pair of wire cutters in his hand. Officials confirmed that there were no signs of foul play or physical assault.

A 32 year old woman, Sita, discovered the body. She explained that Pongsakorn often preferred solitude, so his absence did not immediately raise alarm. However, growing concern led her to check his room, where she found him leaning against a corner.

“I noticed the shuttle driver had been unusually absent. I peeked in and saw him slumped in the corner. I called for help to break in, and we found he had already passed away.”

Sita immediately contacted the police to report the incident, reported KhaoSod.

Rescue teams from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation in Pattaya and the police investigative unit arrived promptly to examine the scene. They noted the condition of the body and the absence of any struggle, further suggesting accidental electrocution as the cause of death.

In related news, an electrician was severely injured after being electrocuted while connecting power lines on a high-voltage pole in Buriram. Rescue efforts were delayed by 30 minutes due to the late arrival of a separate bucket truck.
