Woman found dead with multiple stab wounds in Ang Thong
A tragic incident unfolded yesterday, December 13, as a young woman was found dead in her rental room with over 20 stab wounds. Her father discovered the body after being unable to contact her and forced entry into the room, revealing the horrific scene.
Police in Ang Thong have launched an investigation into the murder of a 30 year old woman named Patamaporn, who was found dead in her single-storey rental room in Pa Ngio subdistrict, Mueang district. The incident was reported to Rattanakorn Chantranapaporn, an investigator from Ang Thong Police Station, who immediately informed Pojanakorn Kanjina, the Chief of Ang Thong Police Station. A team of detectives from various divisions, forensic officers, doctors, nurses from Ang Thong Hospital, and volunteers from the Por Teck Tung Foundation swiftly arrived at the scene.
Inside room number 10, they discovered Patamaporn’s lifeless body near the bathroom. She had suffered over 20 stab wounds on her neck, face, body, and arms. A sharp knife approximately 30 centimetres long was found in the bathroom sink, suggesting it was the murder weapon. The police estimated that she had been dead for less than two hours. The room showed signs of a struggle, with items scattered and a fan knocked over beside the bed. Outside the rental room, a Toyota Yaris was found with the left rear tyre deflated.
Patamawadee, the deceased’s sister, revealed that she had been unable to contact her sister for two days. Their last conversation took place over the phone on the night of December 11. Concerned, she informed their parents, who decided to visit the rental room, only to find their daughter dead.
The victim’s father, 59 year old Thongchai mentioned that Patamaporn rented the room with her sister-in-law, while her husband and his sister had been working in Chon Buri for several days. Patamaporn had been alone in the room for two to three days but was unreachable, prompting her parents to check on her. Upon arrival, they found the room locked. Peering through the window, they saw Patamaporn lying inside, leading them to break the lock and enter, only to be shocked by the discovery of her murder.
“My daughter usually worked in an office in Ang Thong Market and stayed in this room. Her two children live with us, their grandparents.”
Piak, a 60 year old car mechanic who lives nearby, mentioned hearing a heated argument between a man and a woman shortly before the police arrived and discovered the murder. The police have identified a suspect, believed to be a close male friend of the victim, and are urgently pursuing him for questioning to further their investigation, reported KhaoSod.
