The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) issued a weather warning for heavy monsoon rains expected to affect 47 provinces, including Bangkok, with a 70% chance of heavy rainfall. Flash floods and forest runoff are also anticipated.

The 24-hour forecast predicts moderate southwesterly monsoons covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, coupled with a low-pressure area over northern Vietnam. This weather pattern is likely to cause thunderstorms and heavy rain in several parts of Thailand. Residents in these areas are advised to be cautious of heavy rainfall and accumulated rain, which can lead to flash floods and forest runoff, particularly in foothill regions near waterways and low-lying areas.

In the upper Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, sea waves are expected to reach approximately 2 metres, with areas experiencing thunderstorms seeing waves over 2 metres high. Mariners in these regions are advised to navigate carefully and avoid sailing in stormy areas.

From tomorrow to the nex four days, a strong monsoon trough will move across northern and northeastern regions, linking to a strong low-pressure area in the central South China Sea. The strengthening southwesterly monsoon will cover the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, resulting in increased rainfall and heavy downpours in multiple areas, especially in the northern, northeastern, central, eastern, and western southern regions.
