Trang woman claims uncut hair has supernatural powers (video)

A 52 year old woman from Trang province has maintained her hair uncut for over a decade, measuring at 1.17 metres in length.

Known locally as “Pom Pee Chor” or “ghost hair,” attempts to cut it have been unsuccessful, reportedly causing illness to those who tried.

Journalists visited Nutcha’s home in Wangwon subdistrict, Kantang district, Trang. Her hair, which appears glued together from root to tip, cannot be separated.

Nutcha claims her hair began clumping into small sections over 10 years ago, eventually forming a solid mass across her head. Attempts to cut it, including by spiritual healers, resulted in one healer falling seriously ill.

Nutcha shared an experience where she dreamt of an old man suggesting she fire a gun at her hair, assuring her it would not fire.

Testing this with a bird gun, she found the gun indeed failed to discharge, leading her to believe in a supernatural influence. Consequently, she refrains from cutting her hair.

She recounted that over a decade ago, she provided strands of her hair to soldiers and police officers from the southern border provinces, who believed it could protect them from harm. Reports followed that those carrying her hair had remained safe from danger or death.

Despite lacking any particular fortune, Nutcha has never required medical attention and continues her daily life, albeit under the curious gaze of others due to her unusual hair.

She insists on keeping her hair intact, washing it weekly despite the time-consuming process. Nutcha added that during a past incident, a soldier requested her hair, and a person who later replaced him in a vehicle was killed by an explosion. This reinforced her belief in her hair’s protective power, reported KhaoSod.

In similar news, two Thai teenagers drowned in Suphan Buri’s Jorrakay Samphan Canal after entering the water to wash their hair. A seven year old girl, who was with them, ran for help after her friends, aged 15 and 17, vanished underwater. Rescue divers from three local foundations later recovered both bodies.
