Paws and reflect: Workers celebrate well-done Udon Thani dog rescue
Rescue workers in Udon Thani were filled with joy after successfully rescuing a stranded dog from a well near a fishpond on Tham Chedi Road in Mueang district. The heartwarming scene unfolded yesterday, December 19, when the team from Udon Thani’s Songserm Tham Foundation received a call for assistance from locals, who reported hearing a dog trapped in a well for several days.
Upon arriving at the scene, the team discovered a black female dog, trembling and gazing up with a forlorn expression from within the well. The rescue operation required a strategic approach, as the team used a cable to gently secure the dog’s neck and torso to lift her out of the water. Initially, the frightened dog reacted by barking and growling out of fear, which added a layer of challenge to the rescue, said a foundation spokesperson.
“There were two other puppies, one white and the other brown, standing at the edge of the well, seemingly offering support and encouragement to the rescue team as they monitored the situation closely.”
The rescue operation did not take long, and soon enough, the team managed to bring the distressed dog to safety. The moment she was out of the well, the two puppies rushed over to her, wagging their tails and nuzzling her affectionately, suggesting a possible mother-offspring relationship. This display of reunion and affection left a lasting impression on the rescuers from the Songserm Tham Foundation.
After the successful rescue, the reunited dogs quickly ran off, leaving the rescuers with a sense of fulfilment and joy from the touching outcome. The team members expressed their delight at being able to witness such a moving scene and were grateful for the opportunity to assist in reuniting the dog with her pups, reported KhaoSod.
