Rainy morning crash in Chaiyaphum injures four
A road crash in Chaiyaphum province this morning resulted in three heavily damaged pickup trucks and four injuries. A white Toyota Hilux Revo lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, colliding with two other pickups.
Chaiyaphum City Police Station received a report at 7.05am today, July 25, of a multi-vehicle collision in front of Chaiyaphum Radiator Shop on the Chaiyaphum-Si Khio Road, heading into Chaiyaphum province. The police, along with Chaiyaphum Hospital doctors and Sawang Kunatham Chaiyaphum rescue workers, quickly rushed to the scene.
The accident caused significant traffic disruption. Three vehicles were found in a state of severe damage, with debris scattered across the road. Four individuals were injured, including a school student. Emergency responders provided first aid before transporting the injured to Chaiyaphum Hospital for further treatment.
The first vehicle involved was identified as a white four-door Toyota Hilux Revo with a Udon Thani licence plate, positioned in the middle of the road. Nearby, a black Toyota pickup with a Nakhon Ratchasima licence plate and a white Isuzu pickup with a Chaiyaphum licence plate were also discovered.
A 57 year old witness, Vinai, recounted the event. He observed the white four-door pickup speeding despite the rain, which was not particularly heavy. Vinai explained that the white pickup was heading out of Chaiyaphum towards Robinson Junction when it lost control and crossed into the opposite lane, colliding with two oncoming pickups. The crash resulted in four injuries. Vinai immediately notified the police.
Chaiyaphum Police Inspector Chaiporn Prommasena documented the scene and indicated that they would review nearby CCTV footage to determine the cause of the accident. The inspector also planned to visit the injured in the hospital. If their conditions improve, they will be summoned for a detailed investigation to clarify the circumstances leading to the crash.
“The white four-door pickup crossed the lane and crashed into the other two pickups.”
Chaiporn confirmed that once the CCTV footage is examined, they will test the driver’s blood alcohol level. The driver will be questioned further to uncover the exact cause of the accident once their health permits, reported KhaoSod.
