Pattaya: 3 injured as blanket gets caught in motorbike wheel
A Thai family’s late-night motorbike journey near Pattaya turned perilous when a blanket became entangled in the wheel, leading to an accident that injured a young girl and her parents.
Shortly after midnight yesterday, January 2, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Centre was alerted to a motorcycle crash on the road adjacent to Pattaya Country Club Golf Course.
Upon arrival, the rescue team discovered a blue Honda Wave 125 toppled over by the roadside with slight damage. The rider, 28 year old Sarawut, was found with minor scrapes. His companion, 23 year old Orasa sustained an injury to her left ankle along with minor scrapes, while their four year old daughter suffered a broken left leg and body scrapes. Rescue personnel administered first aid before transporting the family to a hospital for further care.
Sarawut recounted to the rescue workers that the accident occurred as they were heading home on the motorcycle. Due to the chilly night air, they had wrapped their daughter in a blanket to keep her warm. Unfortunately, the blanket became entangled in the wheel, abruptly pulling the vehicle down and causing the crash, reported The Pattaya News.
“Thankfully, none of us sustained severe injuries.”
