Nonthaburi theft gang arrested after stealing appliances on bike

A theft gang used a single motorcycle to steal various appliances, including a washing machine, refrigerator, air conditioner, and television, from a building in Nonthaburi. Police have apprehended three people, while another suspect managed to evade capture.
Yesterday, March 13, at 9pm, Police Colonel Phisut Chantarasuwan, superintendent of Rattanathibet Police Station in Nonthaburi, along with Deputy Superintendent Phasakorn Chaiyawong and a team of investigators, arrested 37 year old Kasempan Phowitjit, 28 year old Naret Monpan, and 22 year old Piyawat Yeunsuk.
The confiscated items included a washing machine, refrigerator, television, air conditioner, and a blue-black Honda Wave motorcycle without a license plate, which was used in the crime.
Kasempan was arrested at a rented house in Soi Nonthaburi 14, Bang Kraso subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi district, while Naret and Piyawat were apprehended at a rented room in Soi Nonthaburi 8, Bang Kraso subdistrict, in the same district.
The investigation began after a complaint was filed on March 5 by a victim at the Rattanathibet Police Station, reporting a break-in at the back door of a shophouse in Soi Rattanathibet 28, Bang Kraso subdistrict, Mueang district, Nonthaburi province, between February 22 and March 5.
The thieves stole several electrical appliances, including a washing machine, refrigerator, air conditioner, and television.
Surveillance footage near the crime scene showed three to four individuals breaking in and subsequently using a motorcycle to transport items such as a washing machine, refrigerator, and televisions measuring 43 and 55 inches.
Investigators identified the culprits as Kasempan, Naret, Piyawat, and another suspect known only by his nickname Tee. Although police managed to arrest three of the suspects, Tee was able to escape.
During questioning, Naret claimed that Tee informed him about the opportunity to steal electrical wires from a building in Soi Rattanathibet 28, where other appliances were available for the taking.
Naret, along with Piyawat, Kasempan, and Tee, decided to transport the items. They first took the washing machine, followed by the refrigerator, then the television, making repeated trips since February 22.
Naret stated that Tee and Kasempan later took two televisions and an air conditioner, which Naret used in his room, believing the items were abandoned after a house fire, as claimed by Tee.
Police have charged the suspects with nighttime theft, damaging barriers intended to protect property, and using a vehicle to facilitate the theft or escape.
The suspects and the seized items have been handed over to investigators at Rattanathibet Police Station for legal proceedings, reported KhaoSod.
