A noodle vendor in Nonthaburi announced plans to purchase an additional 100 baht of gold jewellery, despite already owning over 40 baht of gold. This revelation sparked discussions on social media about the profitability of his business amidst an economic slowdown and rising gold prices.

The owner of Hong Te Noodle, Rangsan Suwannason or Cake, located in front of Krisada Nakorn Village on Chaeng Watthana Road, has drawn significant attention for his success. The question arises: How profitable can a noodle business be to afford such luxury? This curiosity has now caught the attention of the local revenue department officials.

Yesterday, August 25, local revenue department officials disclosed plans to investigate Rangsan’s income and verify whether he has been paying his income tax correctly. The department’s team will assess his earnings by averaging the daily customer traffic and evaluating the revenue against the operating costs, eliminating the need for the outdated method of counting noodle bowls.

Given the high number of noodle vendors along Chaeng Watthana Road and leading up to Pak Kret, officials noted that no other noodle vendor has shown such high profits. This discrepancy led to speculation about whether Rangsan has additional streams of income or other business ventures.

The revenue department’s team will conduct an on-site investigation to assess the income after deducting the expenses of the noodle shop. This process will involve questioning and evaluating daily customer averages to verify the shop’s revenue, ensuring that Rangsan’s tax payments are accurate and up to date.

Despite this scrutiny, Rangsan’s tax records remain confidential and cannot be publicly disclosed. However, this case highlights the intersection of small business success and the importance of adhering to tax regulations, especially when such success becomes publicly prominent.

All entrepreneurs should maintain transparent and accurate financial records to avoid potential legal complications, reported Khaosod.
