Upon arrival, police found evidence of a knife fight, including bloodstains along the roadside. One injured individual, 39 year old Uthai sustained a cut to the nape of his neck. Rescue workers administered first aid, and police took him into custody for questioning. The other injured party, a 21 year old man, suffered a severe arm wound and was rushed to the hospital earlier.

Uthai, a goldsmith by profession, explained that he had been in contact with a woman for a while. He went to wait for her at 2am because she wasn’t answering his calls. Knowing she worked at the gold shop, he decided to wait there.

However, her brother confronted him, leading to a physical altercation. Uthai claimed he used a knife in self-defence after being punched, and both ended up injured. He expressed his frustration, saying.

“I just wanted a girlfriend. I’m 39 and ended up being deceived. I received 10,000 baht from the government and hoped to spend it on her. I’ve given her a phone, thousands of baht, and even paid over 5,000 baht for a room.”

The woman Uthai mentioned revealed that they had known each other since she sold durians and continued their acquaintance when she started working at the gold shop. She clarified that they were not in a relationship. She admitted that Uthai gave her a phone, allegedly to keep in touch, but she had recently stopped answering his calls.

Uthai showed up drunk in the early morning, prompting her to ask her brother for help as she feared for her safety. When her brother arrived, Uthai allegedly tried to attack her, leading to a scuffle where Uthai used a knife against both her and her brother.

Police have detained Uthai for further investigation at the police station and will proceed with legal actions according to the law, reported KhaoSod.
