Man dies after falling from Samut Prakan mall car park

A tragic incident occurred in Samut Prakan when a man fell from the fourth floor of a car park at a well-known shopping mall, resulting in his death. The incident, which happened yesterday, March 9, was investigated by local police and other officials.

Deputy Inspector Veerapong Boontor and his team from Samrong Nuea Police Station arrived at the scene after being notified of the fall.

Upon arrival, they found the body of a man, approximately 60 years old, lying on the ground beside the mall’s car park. The area was secured, and the body was covered with a tarpaulin while awaiting further examination.

At the fourth-floor car park, where the fall is believed to have occurred, officials discovered a pair of shoes belonging to the man, a shopping cart, and a bottle of water.

These items were documented as evidence. The initial assumption is that the man fell from a height of about 20 metres.

Somchai, a motorcycle taxi driver near the scene, reported hearing a loud noise resembling an object hitting the ground while waiting for passengers. He went to investigate and discovered the man had fallen, prompting him to alert the police.

Somchai mentioned that this was the third such incident at this location, though he was unfamiliar with the man, reported KhaoSod.

A delivery rider in the area also heard the loud noise, initially thinking it was a vehicle running over a pipe. Upon checking, he was shocked to find the body of the elderly man and promptly informed the police.

Deputy Inspector Veerapong stated that they would continue investigating to determine the cause of the fall and locate the man’s relatives.

The body has been sent to the Forensic Institute at Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital for an autopsy to ascertain the exact cause of death.
