As the lottery draw approaches, locals and tourists flock to Kham Chanod Wang Nakin, the mystical land of the serpent king, to pray to Phor Pu Si Sutho and Mae Ya Si Prathumma for blessings and fortune. This event took place yesterday, August 27, at Kham Chanod Wang Nakin in Ban Non Mueang, Ban Mueang subdistrict, Ban Dung district, Udon Thani province.

Near the giant fig tree, the area is currently flooded with water levels around 1 metre high. By the shrine of Phor Pu, the water is approximately 80 centimetres deep. If it rains more, the water might flood the area in front of the shrine, making it accessible only at two points: the shrine of Phor Pu and Mae Ya and the sacred well.

At the Kham Chanod ceremonial ground, visitors eagerly gathered around the holy water bowl used by the ceremony master to seek lucky numbers. Some discerned figures resembling 37 and 73. Additionally, at the ceremony table, incense sticks were lit for luck, revealing the numbers 043 and 340. The lottery draw scheduled for tomorrow will reveal whose luck prevails.

The ceremony master performed the blessing ritual at the ceremonial ground, drawing attention from all present. People were keen to interpret the patterns in the holy water, hoping to discern lucky numbers. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation and faith, as each person wished for fortune in the upcoming lottery draw.

The flooding near the giant fig tree and Phor Pu shrine has restricted access to these sacred spots. Visitors are urged to be cautious but the barriers have not dampened their spirits. The faithful continue to come in large numbers, undeterred by the water levels, driven by their belief in the blessings of Phor Pu and Mae Ya.

Many locals and visitors made their way to the sacred well and the shrine, where they prayed and offered their respects. The holy water bowl at the ceremonial ground became a focal point, as the ceremony master conducted the rituals with precision and reverence.

“I saw the numbers 37 and 73 in the water. It’s a sign of hope for me. I believe Phor Pu and Mae Ya will bring me luck.”

Another visitor commented on the incense sticks, noting the numbers 043 and 340, and expressed hope for a favourable outcome in the lottery draw, reported KhaoSod.
