Burmese construction worker plunges from 3rd floor in Sattahip
In a terrifying fall from a three-storey building near Chumphon Naval School’s traffic lights in Bang Saray, Sattahip, Chon Buri, a Burmese construction worker narrowly escaped death at the weekend.
The 29 year old worker, identified as Sun, fell from a dangerous height while on the job, leaving him with severe injuries and sparking a rapid emergency response on Saturday, November 16.
Witnesses on-site described a shocking scene as Sun, while dismantling a third-floor formwork panel, lost his balance and plummeted to the ground. According to his colleagues, the accident happened in a split second. Sun reportedly tried to catch the falling panel, causing him to overextend and lose his balance. The impact sent him tumbling into a patch of grass next to the building.
His coworkers quickly sprang into action, moving the Burmese worker to a safer area and urgently calling emergency services. Responders arrived at the scene promptly and administered oxygen to stabilise him before rushing him to Sirikit Naval Medical Center for further treatment.
The incident highlights the ever-present dangers construction workers face on high-rise projects, particularly when working with unstable or falling materials, reported Pattaya Mail.
