Traffic was severely disrupted, with vehicles backed up for over 10 kilometres as the police worked to restore normal flow.

Initial investigations by Phra Pradaeng police have not identified any direct witnesses but suspect the trailer truck was travelling at high speed in the left lane as it ascended the bridge, colliding with the slower-moving 10-wheel truck, reported KhaoSod.

The deceased driver was unable to stop in time, leading to the fatal crash. Police will review the expressway CCTV footage to determine the precise cause of the accident.
