Thunderstorms set to rock Thailand, 28 provinces warned

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) issued a stormy forecast for today, April 21, predicting sizzling heat, thunderous storms, and fierce winds across upper Thailand. A whopping 28 provinces are set to feel the full force of Mother Nature’s wrath!

Locals are urged to batten down the hatches and brace themselves for wild weather. With the mercury soaring, it’s crucial to stay cool and healthy amidst the chaos. The culprit? A low-pressure heatwave gripping upper Thailand, fuelled by southerly and southwesterly winds.

A 15-day weather forecast from the TMD warns of potential summer storms in 38 provinces, including Bangkok and its vicinity. Rain is expected from the afternoon to the evening.

In the south, isolated thunderstorms are anticipated due to westerly winds over the Andaman Sea and southeasterly winds over the Gulf of Thailand and the southern region.

The Andaman Sea is expected to have waves up to 1 metre high, rising to over 2 metres in stormy areas. Mariners in the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea are urged to avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms.

Dust and haze accumulation remains low to moderate in upper Thailand due to moderate winds and sporadic rain in some areas.
