Thailand braces for heavy rain and storms across 37 provinces
Severe weather raises fears of flash floods

Thailand is experiencing increased rainfall, with heavy showers expected in certain areas. Residents are advised to exercise caution during this period. The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) predicts rainfall in 37 provinces, including Bangkok, exceeding 60% coverage on August 21.
This weather pattern is due to the strengthening of a mild southwest monsoon over the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, along with a low-pressure area over northern Vietnam.
In the upper Andaman Sea, moderate wind and waves are expected, with waves reaching 1 to 2 metres. The lower Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will see waves up to 1 metre, but in areas with thunderstorms, waves could exceed 2 metres.
