The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecasts significant storms with strong winds and potential lightning across 33 provinces in Thailand. Bangkok is expected to experience the most severe weather, with cool mornings and hot afternoons. The upper northeastern region will see a slight drop in temperature.

For the next 24 hours, moderate high-pressure systems from the northeast and South China Sea will bring moisture from these areas into the lower north, northeast, central region, Bangkok, and surrounding areas, as well as the east.

This weather pattern is likely to cause thunderstorms, strong winds, and isolated lightning in these regions. Temperatures in the northeast may decrease by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius.

Residents in 30 provinces have been warned to prepare for severe weather, including heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning. The TMD has issued a seven-day forecast from February 16 to February 22, indicating thunderstorms across Thailand.

Mornings in the north, northeast, and central regions will be cool. Residents are advised to protect their health due to fluctuating weather conditions and to be cautious of potential hazards from thunderstorms.

People are advised to avoid open spaces, large trees, unstable structures, and advertising signs. Farmers should prepare to protect their crops from potential damage.

The northeastern monsoon over the Gulf of Thailand and the south is expected to strengthen to a moderate level, increasing rainfall in the south. Waves in the lower Gulf of Thailand may rise to 1 to 2 metres, while the upper Gulf has waves reaching about 1 metre.
