Weather conditions across Thailand are expected to be significantly impacted by a moderate to strong cold air mass, according to the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD). Today, February 10, cool to cold weather is anticipated in northern areas, while the south will experience strong monsoon conditions with rain and high waves at sea.

The northeastern region will see cool to cold weather, with similar temperatures expected in the north, central region, Bangkok, and nearby areas. The peaks of mountains will experience cold to very cold conditions, while coastal areas in the south may face strong winds and waves.

Residents are advised to look after their health due to the drop in temperature and to be cautious of fire hazards, given dry and windy conditions. The northeastern monsoon affecting the Gulf of Thailand, southern Thailand, and the Andaman Sea is quite strong, causing high waves in these areas.

In the lower Gulf of Thailand, waves could reach 2 to 3 metres, with the upper Gulf seeing waves up to 2 metres, and the Andaman Sea experiencing waves of about 1 metre. Offshore waves may exceed 1 to 2 metres.

Mariners in these areas are urged to navigate carefully and avoid areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the lower Gulf should stay ashore until February 10.

Dust and haze accumulation in northern Thailand is expected to be moderate to good, due to increased wind strength.

The weather forecast from 6am today to 6am tomorrow predicts cool to cold weather with morning fog in the north, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 20 degrees Celsius and peaks dropping to 6 to 12°C.

Southern Thailand will have light rain in some areas, with temperatures between 20 and 22°C in the east and 22 to 24°C in the west, reported KhaoSod.

In Bangkok, temperatures will range from 20 to 22°C, with northeastern winds at 10 to 25 kilometres per hour.
