Water truck brake failure in Chon Buri causes no injuries
Driver's quick thinking prevents a potentially catastrophic collision

A six-wheel water truck experienced brake failure and collided with an electric pole in Chon Buri, fortunately resulting in no injuries. The incident took place at 2.56pm yesterday, April 30, with the driver taking decisive action to avoid harm.
Emergency services from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Centre in Pattaya were alerted about the accident involving a six-wheel Isuzu water truck. The vehicle, bearing the registration number 86-0085 Chon Buri, lost control and struck a high-voltage electric pole at the entrance of Sukhumvit 89 or Thung Klom Tan Man in Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district.
Upon arrival, the rescue team found the blue four-tonne truck with significant damage to its front end. The driver, 35 year old Thanapol, sustained only minor injuries and was waiting to provide information to the police.
Nearby, a damaged road sign was found dislodged from its pole, and a security camera pole and control box were also affected. The emergency services managed traffic flow as the area was busy with vehicles.
Thanapol explained that before the accident, he was delivering water to a client. As he exited Sukhumvit 89, he realised the brakes were not functioning, while several cars were ahead.
To prevent injuries, he decided to steer into the electric pole. He noted that failing to do so would have likely resulted in the truck advancing onto Sukhumvit and colliding with other vehicles.
The Nong Prue police conducted an on-site investigation, documenting the scene and planning to review CCTV footage as evidence for further proceedings related to the accident, reported KhaoSod.

In similar news, a devastating crash in Nakhon Ratchasima when a cassava-laden truck suffered brake failure and collided with multiple vehicles. The incident, which happened at 7.19am on March 3, on Route 24 in Nong Bunnak subdistrict, tragically claimed the life of a 55 year old pickup truck driver and left three others injured.
