Brake failure leads to fatal crash in Nakhon Ratchasima
A tragic accident occurred today in Nakhon Ratchasima, where a truck carrying cassava experienced brake failure and collided with other vehicles. The incident, today, March 3, at 7.19am, resulted in the death of a 55 year old pickup driver and injuries to three others.
The accident took place on Route 24, Chokchai-Det Udom Road, in Nong Bunnak subdistrict. The truck, registered in Bangkok, was fully loaded with cassava.
It crashed into an unidentified 10-wheel truck and overturned onto a pickup truck with a Khon Kaen license plate. The deceased was identified as Thanakrit, a 55 year old resident of Buriram, who was trapped under the overturned truck in the road’s central ditch.
Three others sustained injuries in the accident, including passengers from the trailer truck and the 10-wheel truck driver.
Rescue services from Nakhon Ratchasima swiftly transported the injured to Nong Bunnak Hospital and used hydraulic equipment to extract the deceased from the wreckage.
According to the investigation by Nong Bunnak police, all three vehicles were travelling from Nong Ki district in Buriram to Chokchai district in Nakhon Ratchasima.
The driver of the trailer truck lost control after brake failure, causing it to crash into the back of the 10-wheel truck and the pickup, leading to the tragic overturn, reported KhaoSod.

In similar news, a car repair shop owner narrowly avoided a fatal accident while test-driving a customer’s vehicle.
The incident occurred on February 25 in Udon Thani province when the truck overturned due to slippery conditions from rain. Emergency services quickly transported the injured person to the hospital.
The accident took place around 4.51pm on the road between Wang Sam Mo district and Ban Nong Phai.
