Honda CR-V crash causes power outage in eastern Thailand

A Honda CR-V collided with electricity poles, causing three to fall and damage a car, resulting in a widespread power outage. The driver is missing.

The incident occurred at 9pm yesterday, January 12, when Police Lieutenant Colonel Nopadon Thaweecharat from Bang Pakong district, Chachoengsao province, was informed of the accident in front of Grand Village on Sukhumvit Road, heading towards Wat Bang Samak, in Bang Samak subdistrict, Bang Pakong district, Chachoengsao province.

Upon arrival, police discovered the Honda CR-V with licence plate number วฬ 3266 from Bangkok had crashed into the poles, causing them to fall onto the car’s roof, resulting in significant damage. The driver was not found inside.

Additionally, two more poles were knocked down, blocking the road, bringing the total to three fallen poles.

The accident led to a widespread power outage, affecting many residents in the vicinity. Electricity officials were promptly notified and repairs are expected to be completed by the morning, reported KhaoSod.

Efforts were made by officials to locate the car owner in the surrounding areas but they were unsuccessful. As a result, they plan to trace the vehicle registration to identify the owner, who will be held accountable for the damage and legal action will follow.
