The accident took place near a U-turn point in Nong Bua, Moo 2, Bo Kradan Subdistrict, Pak Tho District, Ratchaburi. Rescue teams from the Phathom Borom Rachanusorn Foundation, Huai Yang Tone Point, arrived promptly at the scene.

Inside the wreckage, a 51 year old man was found dead, trapped in the vehicle. The driver and another worker had already been taken to the hospital with injuries. Rescue personnel had to use hydraulic tools to extricate the deceased from the mangled truck.

Investigations indicated that the truck had departed from a factory to deliver the feed to a shop in Ban Pong District, Ratchaburi, around 11am. GPS data showed the vehicle was travelling at 60 kilometres per hour before losing signal at the accident site.

Locals noted that this U-turn point has been an accident hotspot, with over ten incidents recorded. This was the third instance within the past month where a vehicle had crashed into the fence of the nearby house.

Residents expressed their concerns, urging relevant officials to address the safety issues of the area, especially since elderly people and children live in the affected house, reported KhaoSod.

A local shared that the U-turn has seen too many accidents.

“Our fence has been hit three times just this month. With elderly and children living here, we are worried about the next time a vehicle might crash through.”

Police have taken the body to the hospital for further examination and continue to investigate the incident following legal protocols.
